My Most Asked Question During Quarantine

While we’ve been in quarantine, I’ve had a lot of food delivered to my house. Whether it’s groceries, restaurant delivery, or a certain food subscription from Daily Harvest, we’ve been well fed. Along with my weekly menu, I track what I eat so that I have a sense of what I’m eating. I usually document my breakfast & lunch on Instagram stories for sh*ts & giggles. Surprisingly, whenever I show that I’m eating a Daily Harvest something or other, my most asked question is, “How do I like it?”.

Drum roll: It’s easy & if you enjoy smoothies that aren’t sweet, then I think you’ll like them. For full transparency, I decided to get this during my birthday, so there was a discount applied to my order.

My initial order consisted of 12 items and with my birthday discount, it cost $64.88. I went with a mix of smoothies, bowls & a soup. At this point, most people know that I’m not a fan of breakfast so the smoothies are terrific because I can do a workout and feel like I’m eating something healthy afterwards. My expectations were exceeded with the bowls, which I ate for lunch. The miso soup that I ordered was on the light side, meaning I would have liked a stronger savory flavor (obvi, that’s a personal preference) and I could have added more miso to pack more umphh.

So that’s my round-up! I have 2 more smoothies in my freezer and I placed an order of 11 more products to arrive later this week. I’m repeating a majority of the smoothies. As I mentioned, the hazelnut smoothie I would order as a dessert so if you like the taste of cocoa/hazelnut in the morning, go for it. There are a few harvest bowls I want to try: cauliflower rice & kimchi, brussel sprouts & lime pad thai, and a chickpea & za’atar. These bowls really help to make lunch easy.

All in all, I like food too much to rely only on the bowls & smoothies for my daily eating. The tropical flavors are more to my liking because they’re not overly sweet and if I want more sweetness, I add honey. Since there’s not a lot of protein in the smoothies or bowls, I’m thinking about adding protein powder or eating a yogurt afterwards or adding shrimp/chicken to the bowls. I find the bowls to be flavorful, without feeling anything tastes artificial or too salty. My next shipment will cost $87.89 and since I’m paying for the convenience of having them pull together all the different ingredients to make the smoothies and the bowls, I’m fine with that because it makes my life easier.

If you’re interested in trying them, I have a code for $25 off on your 1st box. Code: RE-V2EBTL8.

It makes me feel like I’m getting fruits & vegetables without really trying too hard. Hope you’re taking care of yourselves! Let me know if you try it and what you like or didn’t like!
