Good Distractions

I have always been a reader. Whenever my parents and I would go to the mall or some kind of store that had a book section (like Woolworth’s), you would find me sitting in the aisle reading. The library was a weekly destination. I’m also a repeat reader. I really like to re-read books. It’s like having a group of friends that you can visit. Books continue to be good distractions for what’s happening in real life.

The downside of books is that they take up space. I have a basement that’s full of storage bins of books. There’s just not enough shelf space to include it all. As a result, new purchases are made electronically.

My more recent reads include:

a re-read of A Wrinkle in Time (something that I read when I was in elementary/middle school!)  and I CAN NOT wait until the movie comes out in March!

I watched a lot of HGTV last year and I was intrigued about the story of Chip and Joanna Gaines so I succumbed to purchasing their book. It was a quick and funny read.

Instead of binge watching tv, I like to binge read. I have been known to devour a book series pretty quickly so when Kevin Kwan released his 3rd book, Rich People Problems, I needed to catch up with the series and also read China Rich Girlfriend.

When I’m under a lot of work stress, I like to read something totally different from my life so that I can have a form of escapism. The Harry Potter series saved me during many presidential elections. The world of wizards and wands was the perfect place for me to end my day.
