Don’t Step on My Blue Suede Shoes!
I was on a trip to LaLa Land in September 2011 and all summer I had been eyeing a pair of blue suede shoes that I saw on the Saks website.
There are really only 2 places that give me instant happiness for when I need a quick pick me-up. The Saks website and the other is the cutest dog in the world, Boo. Needless to say, I can’t take Boo home with me but at least Saks delivers!

I am a prolific on-line shopper and there are times when I will buy 2 pairs of the same shoe in different sizes if I’m unsure of what size to buy. I’m also a traditional Christian Louboutin girl so I can usually buy the same style of shoe without trying them on. Since these shoes were Manolo Blahnik’s, I was more hesitant.
Therein lies the serendipity of my September 2011 trip. Those shoes were meant to come home with me. I was in the Barney’s in Beverly Hills and after already making a purchase at the Goyard counter (I should have walked out at that point but the allure of the shoe department was just too much! It was as if the Sirens were calling my name.), I headed straight to the shoes. The clouds parted, the sun streamed a halo of light and a rainbow appeared along with cherubs singing my name. Fine, that didn’t really happen but you’re getting the idea of how my love at first sight moment occurred with these shoes! I don’t think I can describe the moment when Hubs and I met with such accuracy.

Since then my shoes have received a lot of attention. I wore them when I spoke on a panel and afterwards, I had young women approach me not to ask me questions, but to compliment me on my shoes. I told everyone that they should have made the shoes a part of the panel.
Cheers!
